Rights for admins Empty Rights for admins

Post by Tommy Sat Apr 09, 2011 10:12 pm

Okay I'm gonna make this simple.

I suggest that admin level 2+'s are available to set a players race.

Why?
Currently only Shin and Jaxson ( as far as I know ) are able to set a players race. And also, both of them have been quite inactive the latest weeks. From a personal view I've had to wait for 2 weeks to receive my wolf race, and I still am.

I had to wait a long time for mine as well, I defiantly support this. In fact, I was considering donating the other day but changed my mind due to the fact that the high level admins (and more specifically the scripter) has gone inactive which defiantly foreshadows bad times coming. inb4 Shitstorm.

It is already set to level 3 which is the problem

Also, it cant be abused because you would still need to make the application and have it approved. It is simply extending the people who have the ability to run the cmd.

It would be abused at level 1 or 2 because from my experience with admins of that level. They like to use their admin powers to make a role play better. Like teleporting is a big one now. I just think that if lower level admins get the ability to do this, a few unauthorized race changes could happen, or just something bad will in general.

Well you'd rather suggest to wait 2-3 weeks to get the application processed instead of risking a highly respected and trusted player to wield these rights?

Are you saying the admins able to use this command aren't highly respected or trusted enough? And that new admins are and should be able to do more stuff, completely shitting on the admin level system? No, I think we already came to a point where this isn't happening.

Admin level 2's are quite high in the hierachy, it's only 2 ranks from 1337 admin my dear mate. Besides setting a race doesn't give you to many priviligies as banning should be far more serious.

There's a reason they are a low level, and why they do not have the abilities they don't now. Banning is more serious and all the admins know that. If an admin bans someone for fun or for some stupid matter, they will instantly lose their admin status and probably never be allowed to become an admin again. But if someone sets a race for fun, the admin who did it won't lose their job, because this isn't a serious offense. But when just a few more do it, it can and will become a problem. I think the way it's set up now is just fine. Don't fix something if it's not broken.

And where did you get that intel?

Besides I don't think you actually know how long this procedure takes. Currently Jaxson is the only one handing out the races and he is REALLY busy in real life. It would be a lot easier for him to letting the admin 2's and above handle it as well. You apparently don't have a clue , and if you were in our seats you would probably think the way I do.

What do you mean with sourced? That Shin and Jaxson are inactive? They are busy in real life and they are barely online.

Logic.

If you want to get that thingy, someone like Rudy or Shin needs to add that command to the server.

So basically, if they are inactive they can not change your race, nor let other items do it.

Lets hope that someone understood me.

Peter wrote:Exactly where have you sourced your information. I am a level 1 admin because i am currently inactive.

Same here, even if I'm older (admin status time) than Ray and Hikari,I'm still level 1 and they are level 2...It is normal that active admins get promoted faster than others.
In any case I do not think the admin levels and commands should be changed,I think it's good as now.
The fact is that we need more admin levels re-distributation among admins.
I mean many are level 1 or 2,but no one is level 3 (as far as I know,I was inactive, feel free to correct me) and only one is level 1337...Surely 1338 will be only for Rudy,no matter what.
I would vote for Yoko and Yuudai (even if is a bi inactive) to be admin level 3.That would work at my guess...
