The Fallen Dragon

Drake drags on a cigarette as he sits in his dark red Sabre on the edge of the woods bobbing his head to the drum beats and guitar strings of Down in a Hole by Alice in Chains. Rain pours down like the tears of sob filled angels. Drake closes his eyes and listens to the sound of the rain on metal as he exhales smoke into the car’s interior. A pitch black Huntley pulls up on the other side of Drake and a man steps out. Kevin Wilister walks across the muddy grass and stops in between the two cars. Drake steps out feeling the gel in his mow hawk run down his face from the rain. Drake flicks out the cigarette and returns a vengeful stare given to him by Kevin. “You had to betray me brother,” Kevin shouts through the rain “you had to give everything up for what, power”? “I did it for the pack” Drake begins to say. “Bullshit!” Kevin yells, “You did it for your own selfish reasons, you are unworthy to be called Lycan or my brother and here is where you will die”. Drake lets out a laugh that has the sound of a madman. “Then kill me brother, right here and now, take the life of your brother!”, Drake yells just as Kevin shifts into a large white wolf tinged with gray and charges Drake. Drake shifts into a somewhat larger black wolf with dark red eyes that speak of madness, anger, fear and just a tinge of love. Kevin slams into Drake knocking him over and forcing him into a roll. The moment Drake stands Kevin is upon him, but Drake grabs the side of Kevin’s neck and slings him to the dirt. Kevin swats Drake in the nose and Drake proceeds to back off. Kevin gets to his feet snarling and stares Drake directly in his eyes. Drake growls and begins to circle Kevin. Kevin follows Drake with his eyes and waits. Drake rushes in and Kevin meets him halfway as they rear up and snarl biting at each other and clawing. Kevin jumps onto Drake’s back and drags him to the floor biting hard feeling the flow of blood in his mouth. Drake rolls over knocking Kevin off and quickly turns snapping onto Kevin’s leg and twisting until he hears the bone begin to give way. Kevin latches onto Drake’s muzzle and bites crushing his nose. Drake yelps and jumps back whining. Blood stains the grass heavily and both wolves stare at each other only beginning their fight. They charge again and Drake smacks Kevin in the face and bites onto the side of his rib cage. Drake snarls and jerk then suddenly stops moving as he feels sharp fangs sink into his neck. Drake releases whining as he feels blood poor from his neck and desperately paws at it trying to lick the wound. Drake falls over gasping for breath and shifts forms as blood pools into the dirt. Kevin shifts forms holding his broken arm and stands over Drake. Drake grabs his neck as his eyes close and the life flow from his limp body. Kevin stands over Drake looking at his dead body then turns around back towards his Huntley, he gets in and drives away without a single glance back at the body that was once and always will be his brother. The song ends and only the silence that death can bring is left.
