'Trolling'

Alright, so the past couple of weeks, I've noticed that if person1 does something that person2 doesn't like, then person1 instantly accuses person2 of being a troll, or trying to troll.

Hope it makes some sort of sense.. My point of this topic is to EXPLAIN what trolling is, because most of this community doesn't seem to understand it and just throw the word around.


In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, insulting or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Basically, 'Trolling' is being a prick on the internet because you can. Just because person1 may say something that you disagree with, that DOESN'T make them a troll, now stop constantly accusing each other of be troll, its so fucking annoying.

That's hardcore trolling right there, but calling someone a Troll for having a different idea is being a Troll yourself or an ignorant.

For example.

Sam is not a troll because he is posting some random stuff in OOC and IC board, that is for FUN, not to insult anyone.

So basically flaming people and such is trolling, JOKING with people and NOT insulting them is not trolling.

Obvious english person gets trolled by people who can't handle englsih properly (which is about everyone who speaks english as a second language). Meh, taking the piss outta something isn't trolling (if that's what you get called a troll for)

It's basically saying useless things, to ruin things rather than do anything useful. That's why posting no proof in a claim its useless and it usually ruins things more than doing anything useful.
