Wasteland Roleplay: Map Design Competition

W:RP map contest Area1

The first 8 Areas are specific spots, the limits defined on the last image applies to everywhere else in that area.
Follow the wasteland theme, the judges are Rudy and I (We will pick, we will provide feedback).

What will you get?

10 caps on W:RP + One month Gold donator.

5 - 10k on VH:RP

NOTE: Please do not script HQ's, Large Safezones, or anything that can be considered as a base.

Well I been giving a try for this competition and these two are the following maps I just made. Note that I'm still continuing to work on the other Areas. Hopefully when I make them I'll post them on here. If Rudy or Peter would like the Codes for the maps, PM me.

Area 8 - Blockade



This map above shown in the video has been created by me, took it to a more unique way of making it a Blockade, than to make the same old fences and ect. Its based on a crash scene in which most of the crates were later on brought out of the Trailers left overs, leaving nothing good of use left.

-Consists of 20 items.
- Tested several times for any possible way for vehicles to go through: Passed. ( Only worry is for bikes )
- Only way to pass through is on foot.

Area 1 - Defensive Point



In the video provided above, I set it on the specified location which was asked for. Main goal I tried best to acquire, was to make a 'stage' like place which campaigns can be set. Set up watch-lights covering the main 'entrance' in which people approach, in order to possibly spot any unwanted mutants/ghouls, ect. And set several sand bags at the entrance of the main stage, in order to form a defense line position.

- Consists of 15 items.
- Met requirements of chairs and sandbags.

Suggestion. I'm not really good at mapping, but I might give this a shot.


How about an airbase? MTA has more than the needed for a supposed safezone with sandbags and shit.

Area 5 - Door to Sanctuary



( PS: Dun' mind the music in the background.. Forgot fraps record the sound to what'ev you may be listening too. ._. )

Video above shows the map I made for Area 5. Made it defensive from the top as a look out place as a 'tower' of some sort. Then as for the entrance, it consists enough space for players to go through in and out, as well as vehicles. ( Not huge trucks and such). Added a little touch by the entrance with the torches, giving it a waste land 'theme' of some kind. As not much electricity may run through all currents of the city I think.

- Consists of 29 items.

AndrewR: First 2 videos are no offence But I Dislike them. You stacked EVERYTHING, literally, EVERYTHING, on one place not minding the others... And some of the objects are flying in air... Like the big lamps for working areas or stadions..

Ah, no offence taken. I actually like learning from my mistakes. Reason why I places most of it all at one place was because I wanted to make a crash scene, though it was hard testing it out and finding new ways each time for vehicles to pass through. Hmm.. I might edit the second video's lights due to noticing 'em kinda floating ( Only like one side of it, but meh' I've gotten better in mapping now so.. no prob' )
