This reminds me a lot of the Philosophical problem of The Trolley. This question is nowhere as difficult because it's easy- it's 1 life for 1 life and any reasonable person would say (ceterus paribus) that if one person lives and one person dies no matter what, at least they shouldn't be actively murdering someone. The problem would work better if it was "let 3 live by killing 1 person or let 3 die by letting 1 person live." EDIT: To answer the question, I would not kill anyone. One person dies either way, but I cannot be held morally accountable because I failed to murder someone to save someone's life.

So let me ask:

There is a runaway train. You are standing in the control room for the train and you see that there are five workers in the track doing their job. If the train keeps going, it will kill all the men and it could not possibly stop in time. However, you see that if you were to pull a lever, the train would switch tracks and kill just one man on the other track. Do you pull the lever?

--Then, let's say you are instead standing on a bridge. There is a fat man in front of you, fat enough that he could somehow stop the train if he was to fall in front of it. But you can tell he's not going to jump. Would you push him off to save the five people's lives on the tracks below?

----Then, let's say that same problem above except the fat man is the one who sabotaged the train. Can you push him now?

Call 911... If it was a mesh steel box and there was no signal I would find a way to get out through alternate methods... However there wasn't much detail put into the writing of the question so I can not theroise over possibilities of escape, and what if you starte to enjoy the room? You could change into a new phase of self awareness and accept the darkened(?) room as your new reality and live their in your 'enjoyable' yet clinically insane new life.

I guess there is a few questions I could propose because I, like everyone here I hope tries to come to grips with reality by running scenarios in their head when day dreaming (Dreaming is doing such things).
